International Treaty
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), Article 27 - Work and Employment, Section 1 says “State Parties shall recognize the right of persons with disabilities (PWD) to work, on an equal basis with others; this includes the right to the opportunity to gain a living by work freely chosen or accepted in a labor market and work environment that is open, inclusive and accessible to PWDs”.

Local Laws
The Magna Carta for PWDs or Republic Act 7277 Chapter I Section 5 stipulates that “No PWDs shall be denied access to opportunities for suitable employment. A qualified PWD employee shall be subject to the same terms and conditions of employment and the same compensation, privileges, benefits, fringe benefits, incentives or allowances as a qualified able-bodied person.”
