The De La Salle College of St. Benilde’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) held a talk last 4 September 2014 on how to make museums accessible to persons with various disabilities, primarily focusing on adaptive technologies that museums and galleries can install. Various galleries and museums were in attendance.
The participants were welcomed by Joselina Cruz, MCAD Director and followed by a rights-based discussion on Accessibility and the UNCRPD. ASP Trustee Mona Magno-Veluz explained the importance of of art in the lives of individuals with autism and advocated for the continues access and exposure to visual and heritage arts. Advocates from other disability groups were also present.
