Echoing seminars on autism in Laguna

The Autism Society Philippines Laguna (ASP) conducted an echo seminar entitled “An Echo: Laguna seminars on Autism” on 24 July 2015 at Women’s Training Center, Los Baños, Laguna. ASP Laguna and Los Baños Community Center (LBCC) staff shared the information on the following topics: What we need to know about autism, medical Co-morbidities, Communication in Autism, and Inclusion with the objective of Empowering Families, Enabling Communities. The event is in line with the celebration of the 37th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week on July 17-23, 2015.

An Echo: Laguna seminars on Autism

The seminar was attended by 34 participants; parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Special Education (SPED) teachers from the different towns of Laguna, officers and staff of the Los Baños Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) who were all enlightened and empowered and had expressed the need for a similar seminar in the future.

ASP Laguna team is very grateful for the warm accommodation and support of the MSWD Officer in charge in the person of Ms. Hanna Ericka E. Lavinia and Ms. Lorelie Liwanag, focal person from the Los Baños Persons with Disabilities Office. We are also thankful to ASP Laguna Chapter President Ms. Cathy Lopez, Autism Resource Center Program Assistant Ms. Deborah Sanchez and the two lecturers from LBAPCDI, Ms. Salve Lapastora and Mr. Genaro Calderon.
