The following is the message from Senate President Franklin M. Drilon to the Autism Society Philippines for the 20th National Autism Consciousness Week.
My warmest greetings to officers, members and supporters of the Autism Society Philippines as you celebrate the National Autism Consciousness Week 2016.
It is laudable that the Autism Society Philippines has started to primarily raise awareness of children with autism and children with special needs, Today, the availability of various programs for children with special needs to help them become productive and successful in life is attributed to the efforts of your organization.
The "Angels Walk for Autism" is a beginning to transform views, and a step to engage the community to work together to provide help and services to people who need them. I am certain that your activity will be able to raise awareness on children with autism, and on the need to provide opportunities for our special children to contribute to the society to the best of their abilities.
I wish you all a successful and meaningful celebration.
