ABCs of ABA ushers understanding of the fundamentals

ASP hosted a seminar ABCs of ABA (Antecedent, Behavior and Consequence of Applied Behavioral Analysis) and welcomed 43 parents and therapists to the Autism Society Philippines National Headquarters last 27 February 2016.

Gina Bermudo presenting ABCs of ABA

ASP Trustee Gina Bermundo shared the fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) -- one of the most basic, evidence-based best practices for autism. She explained the principles and techniques of ABA in the simplest of terms so participants will be able to understand and apply it not only for their special needs children but for all children. This survey class allowed the participants to discuss case studies and share best practices.

We encourage parents to understand what the various evidence-based practices for autism intervention are. It is with this knowledge that they are able to make informed decisions of the approach that is right for their child.

The participants feedback was positive:
“Very good speaker very sincere in her intentions that everybody learns.”

“Thank you for this seminar! It is a great help for me, as I am still training as an ABA therapist!”

“More power in ASP! Let us continue parent education not only Metro Manila but in the provinces as well.”
