Teacher Christine will discuss the importance of a Comprehension Sex Education for Students with Special Needs and how parents should view and approach this subject matter. She will introduce the four crucial lessons in sex education: healthy relationships, boundaries, personal safety and private and public.
Our Speaker:
CHRISTINE LAURA CARLOS-QUIGGINS is a Special Education Teacher who has has been teaching students with special needs for fifteen years. Christine was born in Manila and moved to California in 2007. She is currently teaching a self-contained special education class in Saratoga Union School District at Redwood Middle School.
Christine received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from De La Salle University and attained her Master's Degree in Special Education. She taught at the Child's Place/ Multiple Intelligence International School in Quezon City. Christine has received certification as an Education Specialist and is authorized to teach students with mild/moderate and moderate/ severe disabilities.
She has taught sexuality education for the past three years. Christine has received training and has been implementing the curriculum Sexuality for All Abilities. This program provides a comprehensive sexuality education for students with special needs. She will be sharing her knowledge and experience so parents can educate and support their children with special needs.
