Free Sensory-Friendly Movie Showing for the 29th National Autism Consciousness Week Celebration

SM Cares treats the ASP community for a FREE "Lights Up, Sounds Down" or sensory-friendly movie showing, in time for the celebration of the 29th National Autism Consciousness Week. “Firefly”, the best picture of the 2023 Manila Film Festival will be featured for this simultaneous sensory friendly movie showing on January 17, 2025, 8AM, Friday, at SM Cinemas nationwide:

Lights Up, Sounds Down Poster

The Lights Up, Sounds Down project of SM Cares offers sensory-friendly movie experiences that include individuals on the autism spectrum in the cinema setting. To avoid adverse sensory sensations - lights are turned up and sounds are turned down during said movie showing. SM Cinemas will do away with advertisements and trailers to cut on waiting time; and allow families with children on the spectrum to bring their own snacks, if needed. Standing up, dancing, walking, cheering, and singing will also be understood by the cinema management.

This FREE FREE FREE movie treat is for children on the spectrum of ASP family members, including the self-advocates. Each moviegoer on the spectrum may be accommodated with one companion.

Registration shall be coordinated via the chapter leaders until January 12, 2025, noon. Seats are limited - first come, first served, with priority given to regular ASP members.
